Ambergris Caye: Best Island in the World

Those who invest in Belize real estate and businesses keep an eye on popular “Best Of” lists that often highlight the beautiful country and display its wonders for the world to see. We’re proud to point out that Ambergris Caye, the most popular island in Belize, has once again put Belize at the top of a prestigious and competitive list. It recently won Trip Advisor’s 2014 Traveler’s Choice Award for Best Island in the World for the second year in a row.

With its turquoise, Caribbean waters and stunning views, there is no doubt visitors will find the caye to be a beautiful place to get away from the stresses of everyday life, to relax and refresh yourself, and to witness the spectacle of some very interesting antiquity.
Whether you are interested in fishing, sky diving (which is particularly popular during the winter months), snorkeling and deep sea diving, walking around San Pedro Town—the only town on the caye—or simply lounging, there is something for everyone on Ambergris Caye. The caye is especially known for its Belize Barrier Reef, one of the largest barrier reefs in the world – second only to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef – and for its pristine, white sandy beaches. There are  also a number of resorts and hotels on Ambergris Caye, some of which may be available for investment right here at Belize Shores Realty.
A community of Maya lived on Ambergris Caye in Pre-Columbian times, and they made highly polished red ceramics, some of which can still be found on the island. The Mayan civilization’s presence in Belize is of particular interest to historians, both professional and amateur, and there are relics to be seen here that will fascinate the most ardent enthusiast.

Ambergris Caye has a lot to offer, and if you can imagine watching a breathtaking sunset over the Caribbean while sipping a glass of wine, you can imagine the special beauty of Ambergris Caye. The people are always friendly and welcoming, there is always something close by to delight your senses.

Have You Considered Gold? You should!!

Why....? Because If you are anything like me, you are sick and tired of Wall Street and bankers manipulating the financial system. They are playing a dangerous game of Russian roulette with our money and when it all comes to a screeching halt everyone is going to lose… THAT's why.

In addition to other alternative investments like real estate and private lending, I have moved a portion of my portfolio into precious metals. Get your free SmartMetals Action Kit...33 pages of in-depth information!

Physical assets like gold and silver give me some piece of mind with all the shenanigans being played right now.

Romantic Belize: The Perfect Place for Couples and Honeymooners

With Valentine’s Day gone (this year), love can still be in the air. Of course, those who own property in the most romantic places in the world seize the opportunity to market their locations as ideal romantic getaways. Real estate and hotel owners in Belize have no problem explaining the lovely surroundings. Belize makes it easy!
Picture a pristine, sandy beach running into clear turquoise waters. Imagine beautiful and stunning Mayan ruins and a tropical forest that you can explore – just the two of you. Welcome to Belize, a magnificent journey into ancient times, soft sands, and charming inns nestled in the jungle.

Belize is a magical destination for couples and honeymooners. It boasts magnificent scenery, majestic views, and friendly people. You will be well cared for in Belize.  English is the official language, you can spend American dollars there, and all the services are provided in a very friendly and courteous manner.
And there is nowhere more romantic. Accommodations are often secluded and as private as you want or need them to be. It’s up to you how much socializing you do in Belize. Even though the temperatures can get quite warm, there are cool sea breezes and plenty of time to stay cool and luxuriate in one of the many beautiful pools attached to the inns, or one of the nearby rivers or the beautiful Caribbean.
The dining is first-class as well. According to Lyn and Arthur Dobrin, writing for About.com, “The beer lover amongst us declared the local brew – a Pilsner – as very good, particularly on tap. The fish lover feasted on shrimp, lobster, grouper and snapper.” And the service is first-rate. Your honeymoon will seem like the most special thing to all the staff, and you will be treated like royalty.
Walks in the jungle, a tour of the ancient and majestic Mayan ruins, and your time in Belize is complete. The gorgeous wildlife – the national bird is the Toucan – and the breathtaking scenery and views, as seen from just about anywhere, are more than romantic. They are sumptuous. And so is Belize. Fine food and drink, welcoming people, a stunning setting. That is Belize, where romance thrives.
If you’re looking for a romantic place to retire to, or to seize the opportunity to capitalize on a wonderful honeymoon vacation spot, contact Belize Shores Realty for commercial Real Estate in Belize.

Why Consider a Retirement Overseas?

With retirement savings dwindling, more and more of us are wondering if we’ll be able to retire as planned. Many baby boomers, especially, will have to keep working long past traditional retirement age just to make up for the beating their retirement plans have taken in recent years....Or maybe not.

It’s quite possible that you can still retire as planned…and maybe even retire earlier than expected. How? By retiring overseas.
A foreign retirement isn’t for everyone, of course. Family obligations may be an issue for some people. Others might not be comfortable in a place where they don’t speak the language. But if you’re the adventuresome type…or if you’ve dreamed of living in an exotic location–maybe on a sultry tropical beach, in a pristine mountain hideaway, or in a sophisticated, culturally rich city–with better weather and a lower cost of living, retirement overseas may be for you.

A free report on retiring overseas to get you started.

Want to learn more? Get our FREE Special Report now. In “The World’s Top Retirement Havens” you’ll discover our best picks…places where you can live large on a small amount of money.
The quiet turquoise waters of the Caribbean…a mountain retreat with views of snow-capped peaks…an elegant pied-à-terre in one of the world’s most historic cities…whatever setting you imagine for your dream retirement, here’s a guarantee: In the world’s best havens, the dream can be yours––and for less than you can possibly imagine.

Panama-Don’t Panic

By now, you have read a myriad of news stories about the change in the Panama tax law that lasted all of 24 hours…and even though the law to tax EVERYONE for EVERYTHING has been repealed…as one colleague puts “the damage is done in Panama.” Actually, one colleague and every single newsletter I subscribe to, and then some, say the same thing. On December 30th, Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli passed a law (Law 120) which made all (yup…ALL) income, worldwide, taxable! Essentially eliminating Panama from the list of viable and legal tax havens…on Tuesday, December 31st a letter was written requesting that the 2 articles of the Law 120 be revoked; this request was accepted by the president and the letter can be seen here on the Presidential website. Oops! Sorry guys…that was a mistake! And the damage was done…but do not panic! Even if you have money or a business or a trust set up there…it’s all good…for now! This does however, open the door for some serious consideration if you have funds offshore and/or a business established offshore…even if it is NOT in Panama. To quote my buddy Dave in Belize “As the world grows smaller, and the big governments spend beyond their means, their need to raise taxes grows and along with that comes pressure on the tax havens to put them out of business.” Dave goes on to say how important it is to have a backup plan in place REGARDLESS of how safe and secure you feel you are with your current structure. One nation which has not succumb to these pressures and continues to remain strong is Belize…to learn more about Belize as an integral part of your offshore strategy, click here or use the contact us form in the right column. While some people moved their companies out of Panama overnight when the news hit, there is no need to panic at this point (and I’m not saying those people did, I commend them for being in tune), but if you have a company established there it could be time to look for an alternative…and if you have been considering an IBC in Panama I would definitely recommend Belize or Nevis first. As for Panama…whatever you do…don’t panic!

 Hit ‘em straight!
