Leonardo DiCaprio's Belize

Jun 1, 2015 - (Newswire-Original source click here)

The Oscar-nominated “Wolf of Wallstreet” star, Leonardo DiCaprio and his colleagues are planning to open the world’s first ‘restorative island’ in Blackadore Caye, Belize. The 'restorative island' will be considered as the greenest island resort in the world once it reached its completion date of 2018. This eco-tourism project is designed with sustainable building techniques where the surrounding ecosystem will be restored and regenerated as it reverses the effects of climate change. Thanks to the biologists, ecologists, scientists, architects and engineers who will be working hand in hand, the eco-project of DiCaprio will be a dream come true.

For Mr. Leonardo DiCaprio who is also an environmental activist. Buying the Blackadore Caye Island with a land mass area of 104 acres which is wild and unpopulated off the coast of Belize, is a great way to promote the future of eco-tourism and green building through ‘restorative island’ development project. He strongly believes that climate change threatens the 'islands and coastal areas all over the world where the rise in sea levels, ocean acidification, and habitat pressures’ happens. However, with this project implemented, it will lead a new way in eco-tourism, green building, and development, as well as human development where the attempts to restore the environment will be truly beneficial.

The resort’s design to heal the island includes mangrove replanting, invasive species replacement of native species, soil and habitat enhancement and creation of additional armature for reef and fish breeding. The other half of the island will remain as a protected and preserved wildlife. And with this restorative island project that will feature 68 villas, 48 estate homes, and private clubhouse with luxurious amenities no doubt that it will create a bigger impact on the Belize real estate market. That is because Blackadore Caye happens to be in the west of Ambergris Caye and is in the east of Belize mainland.

According to Belize Prime Minister Dean Barrow, the plans of Leonardo DiCaprio in developing a neighboring environment will ‘welcome lots of benefits'. That include the commitment to boost local employment, favorable international exposure for Belize, and a boost in economic status and industries”, particularly in the real estate business. Many people, local and abroad, will be attracted to make real estate investments in Belize that includes buying and selling of Ambergris Caye real estate properties that can be designed into eco-friendly estate homes. With this in mind, it could be a good sign for Belize people because the economy will further improve.

Mr. DiCaprio chose Blackadore Caye in his plans because Belize is a country that is rich in a variety of wildlife. It is strategically situated between the North and South America. It has a wide range of climates and habitants for animal and plants. And since Belize is low in human population and there are square miles of undistributed land that is an ideal home for more than 5,000 plants and animal species; it is just right that this wildlife should be preserved and protected. Moreover, Belize is an ideal place to start anew or retire in because the cost of living here is very cheap which allows retirement checks, stocks, and investment income to go further.

People moving anywhere in this country do not have to learn new languages as the natives of Belize speaks the English language. Considerable improvements in health can be observed once people live here because there are plenty of fruits and vegetables grown locally in the country. And best of all, they can enjoy great outdoor activities as they are rest assured that the air they breathe is crisp, clean and unpolluted compared to the artificial climate-controlled residences in urban countries. Which is why, choosing Belize as a place to live in is significantly the best choice.

Ever Been to The Hamptons?

Having grown up on Long Island, I found this article in the NY Times very interesting. While I grew up in Bellport (which is definitely west of the Canal), The Hamptons were not that far away...and yet they were miles apart.
Bellport is a great little town on the south shore of Long Island with a great deal of Hampton-esque qualities, yet it is not in The Hamptons and this article is about The Hamptons...so we'll save my childhood for another post.

From a real estate perspective, the article in the Times is interesting to read, it explains a different side of The Hamptons very accurately; both in the sense that "west of the canal" is though of as ~not quite the Hamptons~ and in the description that "west of the canal" is just as nice as the "real" Hamptons...for a much smaller price tag.
If you are serious about owning in the Hamptons, east OR west of the canal, I wouldn't contact anyone but Lawrence at First Hampton International Realty in West Hampton Beach. His firm is extremely well versed in the various nuances of the different towns...make sure you tell him that SkipJack recommended you...and happy hunting...Oh...if you run into Michael J. Fox...tell him I said hello!

No More Minimum Investment for Precious Metals

This is typically about Caribbean vacation spots, or resorts but I have to pass this information along about the potential for storing your gold or precious metal investment offshore. I recently partnered with Hard Assets Alliance...and they are changing the rules...for us investors...making it easier to get started if you're a novice and making it make more sense if your an experienced metals investor...you have to read this letter:

Dear Investor,

This may be some of the most welcome news you'll receive from the Hard Assets Alliance. And it's something we - after a good deal of time and negotiation - are very pleased to announce.
Starting immediately, we no longer have a minimum purchase requirement.
Our no-minimum-purchase policy means you can buy:

-Any of our precious metals products...
-In any quantity...
-As available at any of our six storage locations...
-Within any account type...
-At any time.

The choice is yours. No exclusions, no restrictions, and no red tape.

My name is Mark Loddo, and I'm the director of customer service at the Hard Assets Alliance.

I can tell you that being able to negotiate away our minimum-purchase requirements has only been possible thanks to our great customers (many of whom I've had the pleasure of working with one-on-one) and their loyal support.

In the past, our dealer network required minimum orders of $5,000 per item for delivery or storage in the US, and $10,000 for storage overseas.

But no more.

Thanks to the sheer volume of sales that customers like you have generated, our network of refiners and wholesale dealers has agreed to permanently waive its minimum-purchase requirements.

Delivering this kind of great news makes my day - and hopefully yours too. And frankly, the timing couldn't be better - the events that have unfolded in Ukraine combined with a frothy US stock market that seems to be slowing are clear reminders that your wealth needs to be insured.

And at the Hard Assets Alliance, we believe the best insurance for your wealth is a reasonable position in precious metals.

There's no time like the present to get started. And now, with no minimum order required to buy metals in your Hard Assets Alliance account, it's even easier to get the protection you need.

You can sign up in less than 10minutes with our simple online application form. If you've already taken the first step and opened your account, you can fund at any time and begin buying precious metals in the quantities that best suit your needs and your budget.

We're here to help you get started today.

Best regards,
Mark Loddo

Ambergris Caye: Best Island in the World

Those who invest in Belize real estate and businesses keep an eye on popular “Best Of” lists that often highlight the beautiful country and display its wonders for the world to see. We’re proud to point out that Ambergris Caye, the most popular island in Belize, has once again put Belize at the top of a prestigious and competitive list. It recently won Trip Advisor’s 2014 Traveler’s Choice Award for Best Island in the World for the second year in a row.

With its turquoise, Caribbean waters and stunning views, there is no doubt visitors will find the caye to be a beautiful place to get away from the stresses of everyday life, to relax and refresh yourself, and to witness the spectacle of some very interesting antiquity.
Whether you are interested in fishing, sky diving (which is particularly popular during the winter months), snorkeling and deep sea diving, walking around San Pedro Town—the only town on the caye—or simply lounging, there is something for everyone on Ambergris Caye. The caye is especially known for its Belize Barrier Reef, one of the largest barrier reefs in the world – second only to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef – and for its pristine, white sandy beaches. There are  also a number of resorts and hotels on Ambergris Caye, some of which may be available for investment right here at Belize Shores Realty.
A community of Maya lived on Ambergris Caye in Pre-Columbian times, and they made highly polished red ceramics, some of which can still be found on the island. The Mayan civilization’s presence in Belize is of particular interest to historians, both professional and amateur, and there are relics to be seen here that will fascinate the most ardent enthusiast.

Ambergris Caye has a lot to offer, and if you can imagine watching a breathtaking sunset over the Caribbean while sipping a glass of wine, you can imagine the special beauty of Ambergris Caye. The people are always friendly and welcoming, there is always something close by to delight your senses.
